Raising Women’s Voices

Some good news for your almost-weekend enjoyment

An important victory by our Wisconsin regional coordinators!  A unanimous vote by the six-member board of the Madison Surgery Center, today, was the final step in securing comprehensive reproductive health care in South Central Wisconsin.  Chair of the University of Wisconsin Authority Board, David Walsh, stressed women’s constitutional right to full-term maternal health care — of which, access to abortion is a crucial component.  National Partnership for Women & Families reports that Madison’s only other second-trimester abortion provider retired in December.

This victory was a collaborative achievement on the part of hundreds of women’s health advocates across the state, who banded together to form the Coalition to Protect Women’s Health & Safety.
