Arizona’s Prop 101, barring universal health coverage, still too close too call

Posted in Uncategorized by raisingwomensvoices on November 11, 2008

Proposition 101, which sought to “constitutionally preclude any sort of state-imposed universal health care,” is currently trailing by 12,000 votes.  The ballot remains too close to call, six days after the election, as election workers manually review 89,000 ballots that were incorrectly marked and another 112,000 provisional ballots that were mailed in but listed addresses on drivers’ licenses that did not match those in county records.  It is predicted that the remaining uncounted ballots will leave the outcomes of Prop 101 and another local official’s seat hanging in the balance for another week.
